6/11/2023 0 Comments Dvdfab mkv remux![]() I don't see it discussed here, but it's discussed fairly often at the video forums I frequent. I collect Asian discs almost exclusively and other than a handful of releases that are from Western studios, none have ever had copy protection. Most Western DVD and Blu-Ray discs have copy protection/encryption which must be must be removed to allow copying of the disc. You can create an ISO of DVDs or Blu-Rays with Imgburn. The advantage to paying for DVDFab or AnyDVD is that they're updated more often and quicker than MakeMKV to handle new copy protection schemes. If you open the index.bdmv file with PowerDVD, it should work as if you had an ISO. MakeMKV will allow you to rip Blu-Rays to folders, but not to directly to ISO. Once the trial of DVDFab ends, you can continue to rip DVDs to ISO, but not Blu-Rays. Does the encryption still pose a problem with this approach? Second, which additional software will be needed for all this?Ĭan AnyDVDHD rip all ISOs as needed, will I need another program on top of that or is there a different way to get the results as wished?ĭVDFab or AnyDVD will allow you to rip to ISO. One thing that confuses me the most is all the talk about encrypted and decrypted discs.Īpparently that won't be a problem for my DVDs because they can be read anyways but it's an issue with blurays. So in short my aim is a process like original disc ->. The icing on the cake would be if I could burn the ISOs to a disc again and end up with an exact copy of the original disc, but that's just a bonus mkv files (with or without subtitles, audio as needed etc.) Ideally they would be ready-to-watch (for example with PowerDVD) at that point, but that's not neccessaryįor further fidgeting around with the videos, I'd want to be able to run the ISOs through MakeMKV and remux the movies into. iso files on my NAS, so I have the full package including menus and extras. My idea was to do it this way:Ĭopy the discs as they are and store them as. I already read about some things but still I am not 100 % certain. Now, the way I planned to do this may be kind of inconvenient and unconventional, and there doesn't seem to be a simple tutorial out there for it. Hey there, I am looking for a way to back up my movie collection as complete as possible. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context.
